The End-of-Month Receipt Pile: How AI Prepares Your Accounting
At the end of the month, there it is: a massive pile of invoices, receipts, and emails with attachments. Here is how AI shrinks the pile before it even builds up.

Most businesses are familiar with the ritual: at the end of the month, receipts and invoices are gathered, sorted, manually typed out, and sent off to the tax consultant. The problem is not any single receipt, but rather that they all pile up at once. AI flips this logic entirely: every document is processed the moment it arrives.
Receipts are processed upon receipt
An invoice arrives via email. Even before anyone opens it, the vendor, invoice number, date, line items, taxes, and bank details have already been extracted. If the vendor is already known, it is instantly recognized. If the same invoice has already been received, an alert is triggered. If the total exceeds a specified threshold, the invoice is routed for approval.
Payments are matched to the right invoices
On the other side of the ledger are incoming and outgoing payments. AI matches them to outstanding invoices using reference numbers, amounts, and names. Anything it cannot match with certainty is flagged for manual review. Most importantly: the system makes suggestions; human staff provide final confirmation.
E-invoicing is arriving anyway
In Germany, companies have been required to be capable of receiving electronic invoices (e-invoices) since January 1, 2025, with mandatory issuance being phased in gradually. Similar mandates are taking effect across the EU. Businesses that already manage their receipts digitally and in a structured format will find this transition far less demanding.
How your tax advisor benefits
Instead of an unorganized backlog, your tax advisor receives a clean, standardized export: fully extracted document data, matched payments, and a familiar file format. Tax assessment remains the advisor's responsibility, while the tedious manual search work is eliminated entirely.
